Nose for the Good Stuff

I was an on-and-off blogger. I started blogging in 2003 but stopped after a year when my blog crashed and everything that I've posted got lost. I started blogging again back in 2006 but ended as soon as I began.

After recently posting an entry on my Facebook page, my brother commented that I had a "nose for finding the good stuff". Other friends often complimented my ability to find really interesting stuff.

Now I'm blogging again - or to be more precise, microblogging (tumblelogging). So what started as compliments have resulted into this microblog! It will be about anything cool that I happen to stumble upon:

- Great articles
- Interesting videos
- Funny stuff

on politics, the law, technology, history, science, religion, philosophy, the arts, current events, and practically anything under the sun (and moon).

With this blog embedded in my Facebook page, expect me to keep this thing alive for as long as I am.

Maia Hirasawa - “And I Found This Boy”

It’s Tuesday, it’s dreary outside, and I could use some upbeat piano-pop to brighten my afternoon. Enter Maia Hirasawa. This singing-songwriting, Swedish/Japanese vocalist reminds me a bit of Regina Spektor, only with more sunshine, rainbows, and horns. This upbeat-like-whoa song is the first single from Maia’s debut album, Though, I’m Just Me (released this past February on Thrive Records), and despite it catchy, celebratory feel, actually addresses the loneliness of touring and a recurring attraction to the wrong guy (but you’d never guess that just by listening to the music).
